[quote="gennyshovel"]Have you thought how your going to make the lil bugga rev past 7000 internet? , maybe you need bigger diameter wheels instead, that'd solve the 10" wheel problem.

Rules say you can't increase wheel size by more than 10%. However I have that sorted... I can get a 5 speed aftermarket gear box and that combined with the upgear kit I already have will give me the correct ratio.

Most Vespa engine bits kick in around 8,000 rpm, so bigger carb and tuned exhaust will get me peak power at around 180Km/hr with the above gearing. Past that it will drop off pretty quick.

I didn't know about the rs50, I am happy to sacrifice form over function ;) Plus the rules for a streamliner are even more strick.

NOS is actually an option, you can buy a kit for a Vespa and it gives 11Hp boost without too much damage. The kit is $1K, I'd only consider it if I was close but not there and only needed it to make it to get over a dip to get up to peak power.

If you think the germans are a sensible bunch http://www.sip-scootershop.com/pages/index.php?ID=12176&EXPLODIM=px&_requested_page=%2Fpages%2Fdetails.php
