Put the beast up against the pub wall and hit top gear , full noise 'till the tread's almost gone Ben, then lend ya front tyre to Bones, and he'd do the same for ya (or doesn't he use front/rear tyres anymore?)

Ben
I tried all ocer Melbourne.
No luck. The issue is the shoulders of the tyre
I can get them shaved square with no shoulder but no thanks

We might be reduced to the Broken Hill Pub wall

thanks gary & other guys, the wheel is a 3"x17". will check out at work what is the narrowest z rated tyre i can fit. bike is already set up with this wheel & it just makes it easier than fitting a wider wheel.

Benjamungi is your tyre a front or rear, if your using it on the rear make sure the tyre is suitable as a drive tyre,
Mickey Thomson make a light weight treaded drag/street tyre, aswell as there Drag slicks, but front use only
What happened to your Mickey Thomson LSR tyre?...

conversing with the tyre guy at work about the narrowest z rated tyre i can put on it. am also going to investigate 125gp bike rear slicks.

Moto GP Tyres are load rated for bike and rider combo of about 80kg all up  you and your lead ballested Kwaka could come in up around 400kg :D I would re think that option Ben Its easy enough to get a 5" rear wheel to fit in your bike with a few wheel spacers and then you can put a real top quality 160 tyre,
Working at Peter Stevens you should be able to get your hands on raced 600 super sport tyres that wouldn't have much meat left on it,,,
They usually have plenty of tread left in the middle and the sides scuffed away, Good for drag Racing than aswell,
Using a late model wheel gives you off the shelf sprocket and Brake rotor options aswell,,,,
..
