Just made a start on the new engine for the Black XW.
Talk about leaving things to the last minute.
Block is in Adelaide getting grouted and the lifter bores sleeved.
Steel SCAT crankshaft should be on its way from the USA shortly to bring it up to 372ci. (C Production engine size limit).
$till much to do $$$$
Fla$h $et of rod$ and piston$, big roller cam, big heap$ of head work etc.
Hope to get a bit closer to that elusive Yellow XA coupe next year.
Worse case senario if I run out of time or have a teething problem with the new engine is to run again with 2004 engine and leave 600+ HP for 2006.

Hi Gary,
I think I am still a few years and possibly a body shell change away from 200mph however I will get the old XW going as fast as I can over the next couple of years.
Realistically I am hoping for around 180 to 185mph from this new engine next year.
Having said that the block I have sent to Adelaide has failed the sonic test so I now have to go through my collection of old clevo's and find another std bore block with minimal corrosion and hope that one passes the sonic test.
Tick...tick..tick...Time is running out.

Time has run out.
Crank still has not arrived from the USA, another 2 engine blocks have failed the sonic test.
This new 600+ HP motor has now become the 2006 motor.
I will be going back to the lake this year (2005) with the 2004 motor.
I will play around with a couple different size carbies and might be able to sqeeze another 1 or 2 mph out of it.
There is always next year or the year after or the year after.......
See ya at the lake.
Regards Mark
