I see that a number of Members head down to Lake G around the X Mas New Year period each year for a Working Bee.

I will be able to come down if this is a goer? :D :D

If people would like to have a working bee that would be good. :D I can formulate a list of "Things to do"
Unfortunately I won't be available this Xmas break as I will be going to the "High Country" in Victoria to pursue my other passion, :D :D :D 4WDriving.
I will be going up to the camp between now and Xmas to change the locks, which I now have, and generally check stuff out again
Cheers,
Trevor

I won't be able to attend sorry if the 5000km turnaround was a bit less I'd be there.

A favour though Trev. The keys for the Acme Racing EB Falcon wagon were in the Kev Saville container. Can you check if they are still there after the breakin as it will be scrap metal if they are gone. If we know this we can bring the Sims Metal truck for the EB and an alternate push/club car.

Thanks Chris

Chris,
Will have a look if I remember but I think the keys will still be there as they only took valuable portable stuff. Sorry no offense to the EB.
Cheers,
Trevor

Chris

That's assuming anyone can remember the correct sequence to start the thing anyway!!!

The sequence begins with fill the transmission because we know for certain that any remaining will have long since settled the dust, then fit a fresh battery.
After so long away we then need to find a friend to suck the syphon tube and remove the smelly dead unleaded, this is a given. Add fresh fuel.
Presuming the key thing still has some memory of the factory code that makes it theif proof, (I would have thought the rock solid seized brakes would make it thief proof) then with fresh fuel it may crank and start.

We then it,select drive, gun it then reverse, gun it,select drive, gun it then reverse, gun it,select drive, gun it then reverse, gun it,select drive, gun it then reverse, gun it,select drive, gun it then reverse, gun it,select drive, gun it then reverse, gun it,select drive, gun it then reverse, gun it,select drive, gun it then reverse, gun it,select drive, gun it then reverse, gun it,select drive, gun it then reverse, gun it,select drive, gun it then reverse, gun it, and then provided it is not boiling because the rotted from the outside welsh plugs have failed we get to pile in and head for the lake.

We are aware that the brakes may be a bit clunky but may well take out the camp gate post when we neglect to remember the power steering leak and it might have been a good idea to add some fluid.

Can't wait

Chris

Oh now i remember, it has added security on the security. And you are right Lynch there is a sequence and another indiscript battery that will most likely be flat.

How did it go. Close the left eye. Hold your right foot above the floor. Ensure the windows and doors are locked and closed. (Lucky it won't be hot in Feb eh) Wave the thing on the key ring past the thing on the dash only after turning the key to on but before cranking and keep your left hand pressing the shift lever hard in park because the switch there is a bit dodgy. Crank the engine within 3 micro seconds of the before mentioned sequence or risk having to exit the car close and lock the doors then renter before starting the sequence from scatch.

God I love modern cars.

Sounds like it was developed by Microsoft!!!

Well,
It's that time of year again :)
It has been suggested a working bee will be warranted to sort some of the DLRA camp equipment and facilities in preparation for our Feb 2013 race meeting. :D
Anybody out there wish to indicate whether you are interested or not. :?
I know of at least 3 people and probably 4 who will be there
As I said previously I will be pursuing my other love of 4WDriving and going to the Victorian High Country over the Xmas New Year period :D so won't be able to make the working bee this Xmas
There are a few small jobs which need doing and will be advised when you get there.
Cheers,
Trevor #298

PS Merry Xmas and a Happy and Safe New Year to you all :D See ya in Feb

Greg,
If you are in the area if you could "rattle" some doors would be good.
Could you also check the "genset" area and the fuel tank level would be good.
Cheers,
Trevor
