New Classic Engine Classes for Motorcycles

Post by AuotonomousRX »

(This is a Bones free Post  )

Just a reminder to all potential Motorcycle Entrants that we now have a "Classic" Engine Class .....

It is for any Motorcycle that is Air Cooled and uses Carburetors made between 1956 - 1986 that are NOT eligible in Pushrod Engine Classes can enter.

See Rule Book (standard text) page 103 section Section 7J.14

It is for all these sort of Performance Bikes .....

Simply add a C to your Engine designation as in CF or CG etc all the existing Chassis Engine Sizes remain the same .....

As long as you meet the Gasoline requirements see Section 2B page 18/19 (standard text), I'd say so ......

Technically (See standard text Rule Book page 103 section Section 7J.14) it would be Modified - Classic Gas - 500,

On your Bike it would be M-CG-500 ( see page 83 section 7.B.1 )

A tip for any new Motorcycle Entrants ....

Go to the DLRA Rule Book and on pages 127 - 128 (standard text)

You will find a Checklist that is used when you go through Tech Inspection.

Follow this list ......

If you need further Clarification then contact the Chief Motorcycle Inspector .....

Just in case there is any confusion.

Here an example of the way the new Classic Engine Class would look on your Bike If you were running MPS Classic Gas 250

Just looking through the Entry List and I see a few interesting Entries as far as the new Classic Engine Class and just to Clarify it....

I understand that people might not want to run in the new Classic Engine Class even when they are eligible to run.

I just hope that anyone that has a Bike that is eligible are aware of the change. It's on Page 103 of the "On Line" DLRA Rule Book.

7J.14 Classic Engine C

Classic Engine is a class for all Air Cooled, Non-Pushrod Engines using Carburettors made between 1st Jan 1956 and the 31st December 1986.
