New Camp water supply

Post by outbacktrev »

Hi All,
For those attending the DLRA Camp this year it would be a good idea to take your own DRINKING water. The water at the camp has been "blended" and is a little salty. This was done over the Xmas break to make sure there was enough water for the 2006 meeting. In real terms the water from the taps at the camp in NOT really suitable for drinking. (If you intend to drink water that is! ) As you would all be aware this is going to be a BIG meeting and water is going to a scarce commodity. Please consider your water usage when you are up there . A 3minute shower each day or 1 x 15minute shower for the week!
Sorry to come over as the "Policeman" but water is a major issue now the race meetings are growing in size.
As we will be having an ICE truck up there this year with 10,000kg of ice, thats 10,000litres of water. Use this to wash dishes or whatever and this will save precious rain water.
Sorry! Off the soapbox now
See you all 2006 at the lake :D
Cheers,
Trevor
