Race jitters
Gee I don't know about you all but I have been going through some pre-race announcement jitters!!
It's awful not knowing if we are or if we aren't going.
I got really low after the last two cancellations and I reckon I am not willing to get excited about it now in case we get let down again.
I reckon there might be others out there feeling this way too.
I want to feel good about it, and excited, and confident that we will have a great time.
I think the only thing to do is to re-commit and double the efforts so we are ready when the go ahead comes.
Although we are racing I want to help with more running of the event , etc. so Cled, put me down for some stints assisting at the line!
Whose with me lads? Let's make this the BEST Speedweek yet!!
Things are rough for all of us, financial crisis, bushfire crisis, flood crisis, Claire Danes getting engaged..., but this is an event that WE build so chins up, lets make it happen.
Onward and fasterward!
Amen

I'm usually an organised kinda bloke, this year is all over the place for me,,the salt crisis,,one work drama after another,,the indication of a better job, with no conformation forth coming, well, not 'till late Feb,,I hope I can postpone the start date 'till after event,,I also hope my empty pockets can manage the trip,,the nom, and the finishing touches the lil bloke requires.

Rev , want to make this the BEST speedweek ever , get people there early (Fri or Sat)to help get every thing set up.
will the "Church" be welcoming us drunken Salty's on the Sunday? and will you have a nice sermon prepared?or will you still have the"jitters",and a hangover?????
I know Trev Beck will have a fridge or two containing Holy Beer.(Better than water!!),and i'm sure that James would make a suitable alter boy
See ya on Salty Sunday Reverend.

Yep good tip.
We are planning to leave Melbourne early Friday morning to get there as soon as possible to assist in setting up and converting beer into uric acid.
As for the sermon, I shall quote from the book of James (Dr G)
Our race meet, which is in March
Speedweek be its name.
The time has come
The build is done,
On dyno as it is on track.
Pump 'em up hard and shave the tread .
This year for some really fast passes.
'and three cheers for all those passes before us.
Lead us not into the crunchies,
But deliver us to five mile .
Brine is the Kingdom
The power
And the glory
For revver and revver
AMEN

are we there yet?
....sitting here at work I have a serious case of the "COONBIES" otherwise known as the CBF's....the suspense is killing me....still haven't booked the holidays..........
...few understand what I'm trying to do , but they vastly outnumber those who understand why..
Permission Granted to Race
Just heard the good news from "Old Timer" (Peter Noy) that the meeting held today was successful and we have been granted permission to race this year.
Final salt inspection next weekend
See you at the Lake [/b]
