Can anyone help me.
Just looking at the D/GC record and cant work it out. Mark Hadfield has the record but with two different times. One being 178.651 and 195.047 which both were set in 2004.

Can you help me out with the correct record and who obtained it?

...one might be an "unofficial" when they were using the streamlined nose piece , just a guess. ...So , are we looking at a serious challenge with the 292 ???

 Thanks Dr Goggles for your feedback Well what can we say? We wil all have to wait to see how the 292 goes

One thing that I have noticed is that the whole record list must be correct and updated.

Got to admit its a bit confusing . I saw the mustang with the streamlined nose on it , which would put it in D/GCC becauce GC doesnt allow streamlining . you should have a yak to Mark Hadfield to see what class he did run in , in 2004 .
And stay in your D/GC class , cos E/GC is going to be my class next year . I dont want to be out done by a cast iron antique engine haha . Alooominum the way to gooooo .

Nup not racing this year , couldnt find a 292 chev , yeah sure . Only dropped the new motor in last weekend ( just a test fit , and it does ). Its an all alooominum Nissan 4100 cc V8 , with forged crank and rods , 6 bolt mains , and 32 titanium valves and lots of other good stuff ( its a stock engine ) . When we have a drink down at shearing shed camp , i will explain all those hi tech things to ya hahahaha . Oh yep , i still coming to the event , flying to Adelaide . Wouldnt miss it . One year i gunna beat yas .

Geeez Donna , is this new fandangled thingy made out of melted down Coke or Bourbon cans??? And what the hell is tittyanium?? Good old boy's run USA Iron (even if it's an old 292 -Sorry Norm , couldn't help myself!!) , jokes aside , the stuff us guys run , is becoming dinosaur material ,and i for one see the future coming (don't like it though) and can live with it , sort of . On Mark's car , it is in PRO , to run G/CC it would have to have one of the following ,-engine setback - topchop - bellypan , or body lengthend 12" from cowl foward . That's why Mark ran for time only with the "Daytona" front . Cheers Bob. #66 C/GCC.

Here's Mark's car with and without the nose. Maybe if he painted it red the scrutineers wouldn't notice it! ;)

gday bloke BOB , also GC includes an engine swap . Tittyanium and alooominum both have UM in them , I will explain over a bourbon at shearing shed camp . In the 1950s the USA saltracers had to admit the overhead valve technology was just too much for the flatheads . Plenty of life in the cast iron V8s , the latest offerings put out plenty of neddies .

Thanks Bob for ya comments.

So the question is, is the "Daytona" front a body lengthend 12" from cowl foward or a streamlining device?

I imagine it's a streamlining device. When they talk about 'from cowl forward', I think they mean the lengthening begins at the cowl and goes forward.

But it's all about interpretation, isn't it? ;)
