I moved in a new piece of furniture the other day. Its the smallest one I could buy
Some of the family are not overly impressed-----but I like it

What's wrong with that, I have a old Ducti desmo in the lounge room, lot more interesting than a coffee table

A Vespa Rally 200 In the spare bedroom {Not mine, a job}
And a Bimota DB1 in the roof
And that's just the stuff that's inside
There's a Heinkel tourist and an Adler Junior on the back veranda
An Aprilia Mana and a an Aprilia Scarebeo on the front veranda
Two CB1100's one CB900 four Vespa ET4's {smashed total value $200} one Ducati 450 RT {as seen at lake Gairdiner} one TY250A one XL500R and one Garelli moped in the garage.
And then there is the Monster and the BMW R1100r that are jobs

I cut down the pear tree and shot the fuggn partridges 'cos i liked to sleep in

Given up on the idea of traction, its a myth, just friction drive, the more wheelspin you get the faster it seems to go

That's an interesting observation Greg.

I read that "Tractor Pulls" don't work on traction, they spin as hard as they can to throw as much dirt out the back as possible and let Newtons third law do the work......



For every action there is an equal and oposite reaction.....

May work the same on the salt???

checking out the riding position. Not real comfy as is but with a more rearward footpeg mount and something to lie on I think it will be ok.
Alex hhs the engine mounted and the back wheel in. I'll try to machine up a steering stem this week and fit the forks.
I've had a little sidetrack lately-- moveing house and building a zx10 streetfighter, I couldn't resist it on ebay

Ron's tyre problem is very interesting. The damage is exactly on the centreline and just in front of each tread groove (as the tyre rotates). I'm thinking that the damage is caused by the tread on the centreline flexing excessively under acceleration because of the tread groove right behind it. Has anyone tried Z-rated tyres which don't have any tread grooves crossing the centreline? And if so, do they still have the problem? Just tried a quickGoogle search and found a few that might work (or at least don't appear to have any tread grooves that cross the centreline of the tyre): Michelin Pilot Power, Dunlop Sportmax Q2, Pirelli Rosso Corsa and Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP. There were plenty of race slicks too, but I don't know what their speed rating was. If anyone has a favourite tyre that never gives trouble I'm sure there are people out there who'd love to hear about it.

David touring tires with harder compounds have been shown to work well,most of your listed tires are too soft
the exact same prob the race rubber is giving at the moment
and as you noted if there is an area for the tread to be pulled into a gap it overheats that rubber with the excessive movement and throws off
Shaving also helps

I have used Dunlop roadsmart for several yrs ,one of these tires has seen on a rough calc 40 runs over 200mph

I have been told there will be a specific motorcycle landspeed tire available in the future and there have been a few guys experimenting with 15" car landspeed tires with varying degrees of success

I feel quite comfortable with our current regs on tires and hope the new tires will be available before we bring in the scta rule book
