Proposed DLRA Camp working bee and get together

Post by outbacktrev »

Evening ALL,
Just throwing out the proverbial line to see if there is any interest in a working bee/bonding session up at the DLRA Camp sometime this year :?:
If so, preffered timing of such an event  .
I have spoken to some, on the phone, and October seems to suit some but the Xmas period seems to be the most favoured time by many (I suppose because a lot of firms close up over xmas and a lot of people have holidays at that time) :D
There are a few jobs that need doing and a general clean up again to try and keep things tidy and orderly as our landlords like it that way :!:
If you are interested leave a message or PM me and we can go from there.
Cheers ALL

OK people we are getting closer to the Xmas break, :D could people intending to go up to the Lake over the Xmas break please indicate the day they will arrive and approx duration of stay. :?:
IE I will be going up there on either Sunday or more likely Monday after Xmas day and staying for 2-3days. :D
The reason for asking is there will be testing of the new timing equipment and it would be good if a few members could be there to learn the operation of the new timing equipment (TAG HEUER rep will be in attendance, not sure which days yet) demonstrating and testing the new equipment :?
Also would like to complete a couple of simple tasks at the DLRA camp so things are a little more comfortable for us all at the camp next race meeting.
Over the Xmas working bee/bonding session the camp genset will be running so power will be available for refridgeration etc.
Starting to get a little excited I am :D
Cheers,
Trevor

G'Day & merry Xmas all,
Those who are intending on going up to the lake over the Xmas period, :D and I have not contacted already, could you please PM me or ring me on (08) 86404888 (work number will forward to my mobile if I'm not there) re access to the the the Camp.
Normally the second gate you pass through, on race week, to get to the Lake is locked  and you will need to know how to gain access to this as the gate WILL be locked over the Xmas period.
Cheers,
Trevor

I returned a few hours ago from the working bee, had a great few days and caught up with some great people, however I also put a couple of great cracks in my sump . So I would like to thank a few guys - Dennis ( Grey power) for the perma weld it worked great and got me home no problem also Andrew ( had everything in an XR8 UTE you could need to carry out some bush mechanic work) and Rod for helping out also and everyone else that helped and didnt give me to much of a hard time. I did earn myself the new nick name SUMPY. Thanks Stan. See ya in March.

Hi Phill,

I hit a rock that was a bit bigger than I thought it was, it was on the side of the road. I was in a V6 petrol Holden Colorado and in my defence the sump does sit lower than the sump guard . The dirt road from Iron Knob to the lake is spot on at the moment other than a few washouts from the October rains 8).

Cheers

Only a Holden would have a sump lower than the sump guard !
