I cut the seat on the weslake down to 250 to keep in line with the US. I hope to take it to speedweek.
Neither of the bikes will be running in PS, we don't have enough tine to do a front fairing, but will be good development for next year.
Pick up the crank tonight so will start assembly tomorow. Only one rocker to come
Maybe I join make 2 tails and have a new sport------naaa

I'm back
I haven't been sitting around doing nothing
From a few posts ago I picked up the crank and assembled the cases.
Every thing on this engine is a drama. No body knows exactly what is in each model of this engine.
There are no part numbers and no body has a parts book
The major problems have been--
crank pin didn't fit the flywheels
cracked rocker, new one supplied had a narrower bearing- was supplied another
piston rings- too wide - too much end gap
push rods-- 15mm short. A bloke I know said they are mk5
made new ones and now they have a tick as the follower goes over the nose of the cam
I have decided to defer the weslake test to when I have more time.

So to have a ride at Bonneville I havetaken posession of Alex's bike and fitted my spare RS125 honda engine.
( there is a part no for everything)
Rebuilt the engine this week and started it today.(the neighbours love the sound of an open stinger)
It started easily by pulling the rear wheel.
a few photos of the bike

about 4 weeks till the bikes leave--- still plenty to do

That is one very fat chamber, self designed?

Good luck to you Bones and every one else going.

The pipe came with the engine which had been in a kart. I hope it works.
It gets in the way of my leg and makes it stick out a bit too far but I it didn't need too much modification to fit
I'll get Alex to make a better fitting one for next year
It does sound good in the shed.

A piece of old electric blanket wrapped around your leg should do the job

No. I've got the sidecar entered for SpeedWeek. Put a little blower on it to run in the blown classes. Finding the right jetting is like finding Weslake part nos.!

hey Hoof
that jetting may be a little tricky ---- cause there ain't no part nos.
We will be at El Mirage, hopefully riding. Then WoS.
I would love to catch up with you, If you'r not going to Elmo maybe I could come up to your place.
I'm going to see Dave Brant wili I'm in Sacremento.
The fiberglassing is nealy done but I won't get as much done as I wanted.
The bike is getting longer and is harder to get a full photo

I'd love to say hello if you make it here. So far the plan is El Mirage in July, SpeedWeek in August and the remainder of the El Mirage season. Sept., Oct., and Nov. Assuming it all stays together. Are you bringing the Weslake or just having a look see?
