A/G 125 class build

Re: A/G 125 class build

Hey GOS
The tyres will have it cast into the tyre ID. my rear avon 100/90. 19. 57v
100/90-- tyre size
19 -- wheel dia
57--- load rating
v--- speed rating (the important one)
H speed rating may work for you and a bigger selection
I think you will have to run special construction.
Modified must run same engine and frame manufacturer
Production is show room model
Even if you don't build your owne frame you will still be in 'A' with different manufacturers.

You will need at least a T but a H rated tyre will be easier to source
P rated is 94, so you can't use it
Your log book comes from the DLRA when you enter your bike

They make it
I make it work

avon make a 100/90 v 19 which is marked for use on front and rear. this is the tyre I have used on the rear of my small bikes.
Silcks work well on the front-- ran 177 on the R1 using a drag front slick.
I am using a slick off a 125 road race bike on the front.
I don't think a 125 or 250 will outdo a V rated tyre 150+ when shaved
Use the skinniest tyres you can that will have the speed rating, and the tallest on the rear

apart from gearing, what is the purpose of the larger rear? would a 18inch rim be an advantage over a 16?

I'd say lower rpm for any given speed and therefore less centrifugal force on the tyre, lower rolling resistance too.

Longer contact patch for more traction.
Probably not so important with the 125s but with a bigger engine i'm sure it will help.
My bike weighs about 100kg and I don't want to carry any ballast.

what do you guys think of the length of the manifold we made?

Image

is it too long for a high revving engine? ive been trying to find comprehensive info on intake tuning but cant get any thing specific enough to give me an answer. is it the length of the entire intake from the air inlet? or the length after the carburettor that has the most effect.

Not sure if you've seen this link I posted some time ago but it's not a bad read.
