$25 annual fee

Postby DLRA » Thu Mar 01, 2012 4:11 pm

Carol has asked me to pass on this information.
Many entrants have not paid their $25 annual subscription nor have they included it with their entries for Speed Week 2012.
To be a financial member of the DLRA you need to pay your annual subscription.
To be able to race you must be a financial member of the DLRA.
Those that haven't paid will have to pay at registration on the salt.

I can understand how this has happened as this subscription was brought in since we last raced and many entrants are rolling over entries from 2010 and 2011.
But it does not excuse you from paying...

Greg,

This is last years (2011/12) fees correct?

Also don't everyone's fees also fall due again (2012/13) at the AGM?

Cheers,
Rob

Hmmn... I paid mine and bought a shirt too!

I seem to have disappeared off the alphabetical members list, but I'm still there in the numerical (752) listing!

So when will the next $25.00 be due?

Cheers! :D

Will we get a new membership card each year as well. Its just that my pit crew went to buy Avgas today using my DLRA card and they wouldn't accept it because it didn't have either an `expiry date' or `Life member' printed on it. Mind you they accepted it for the test and tune weekend in Feb. Fortunately they accepted one of his other car club cards.

Response from Carol -
"Yes, Greg we are talking about the 2011/12 fee for this years racers and yes everyones fees fall due after the AGM, those that haven’t paid are in arrears. We won’t be issuing new membership cards each year (what a job!!!) we have never had cards with an expiry date or “life member” printed on them and as far as I know no-one else has had problems getting avgas, I have just had a new batch of cards printed and I guess the words “Life member” would have been a good idea. Perhaps I can write it on in future and if anyone wants to hand their card into me at the event I could write them out a new one. There is no room on the cards to have a stamp made to print it on."

Maybe it would be easier if I just keep my membership receipt with my card.

G'Day Paul,
we don't have a form to print or provision for online payment.
just give Carol a ring and you can pay by credit card (03 5472 4629)
or
snail mail a cheque (DLRA PO Box 349, Castlemaine VIC 3450)

Thanks - I have gone and got the postal order to snail mail :)

May I suggest that a PayPal subscription mechanism be set up? It looks fairly straight forward, can be set up once and automatically billed annually. Any extra cost can be added to people that want to pay their fees this way (and I guess would end up much cheaper than a postal order anyway).

Have a read, it looks like it will make everyone's life easier :)

Can I ask a hypothetical question regarding the $25 annual fee?
What would be the situation if I failed to pay the annual fee for 5 years and then wanted to race?
Would I need to pay the arrears ($125) or the $25 for the current year?
Just wondering.
Thanks.
If ever I go missing I would like my photo put on beer bottles instead of milk cartons. This way my friends will know to look for me.
