Went to Dyno yesterday.

Frustrating day found that the Power Valves PVs (small valves in the Exhaust ports that vary the size of the Exhaust Port) stopped opening

Cables that operate the valves came loose

I found this out as had trouble getting any meaningful AFR readings so followed the EGTs which were fairly low

after the 4th Run, Jetting changes did not make any difference, revving out but no power gain, had us scratching our heads

then found the loose cables

no damage done just could not do any actual Tuning.

Oh well I am back in the shed and have put everything back in place and readjusted the PVs and tightened everything up properly!

just set the power valves for high revs - the tests I did with the powervalves showed they did not make enough difference to worry about enabling them. They are good for power at different ranges, but you only care about top spped :)

You can buy bungs of o2 sensors, so you can weld in a permanent mounting point to screw in a sensor whenever you need it (just make sure it is in a spot that isn't too hot and is clear of anything when the sensor is screwed in. I have a few old notes here: http://www.vespalabs.org/User:Internets ... Lab_Notes)

Yeah I have the O2 sensor bungs in the pipes, that is my own O2 sensor. I am now getting a reading on my Innovate Meter.

I have a Zeeltronic "ECU" that controls PVs and the Ignition Curve.

I just got side tracked and did not finish one job before going to the next and did not set and tighten the PV retainers.

RGVs are very sensitive to PV settings while I can set them fully open the Zeel unit makes it really easy to set them up.

The AFR readings were stuffed up by the +++++Rich Jetting with PVs closed I am Jetted for an open air box

The first Run read 65 rear wheel HP so I was in the ball park, then the cables moved and all went down hill from there

Yeah I'll be there,

I am pretty much ready to go, a few small tidy up items.

I have now had the time to do the next lot of upgrades I was going to do to the Bike for next year.

So I just hope the Aero stuff I have made actually works this year.

Yeah Bones, that what it is.

It is made from an old NSR Honda Belly pan I extended.

It stays attached on the bike and the other two come off.

This is what I ended up with:

The Instruments are L & R Water temps on top, EGTs on bottom and Shift light on right.

Looks ok from a distance, I just hope it goes straight.

Came up really nice Pete. I got mine back together after a freshen up. Now just need a place to give it a run. Wonder if the neighbours would mind if I did a couple of runs up the street.

Pete,
Yes, you're right, it will look good from a distance. I love the tail piece, it looks like Cadzilla!

Cheers

Cheap Lambda bung is an 18mm nut, linish one side to match pipe shape. Weld on.
Can often buy a " 1/2 nut " works better still.

Love the rear view, looks like it will work good.
