OOOOOH BUGGA . What have i gone and done now . Today i went out and bought a half cut . Its a Nissan Cima with VH41DE engine . Translated into english this means ... V8 4.1 ltr quad cam , 32 valve ( titanium ) , alloy block , variable cam timing , 198 kw @ 6000rpm . Comes with a 4 speed auto , wiring loom and ECU .
Now the thing is , to put it in blue one wagon and run it at the salt in E/GC next year .

thats handy to know Chris . yep measured it all up before the purchase . The nissan Cima is same width between the suspension towers , " chassis rails " same width apart . Skyline engine bay is longer .

Don

You've inspired me! I reckon one of these would be the go for my new XY... do you think the auto would hook up to the column shift?.... I'm going to try and drop in to your workshop this arvo with a tape measure. Yes, they sound like a brilliant motor from what I read on Autospeed the other day.

Spent Sat afternoon gently dismantling the the half cut , until i got to the heater fan and aircon ( removed with assistance of crow bar ) . Have kept all engine harness intact . Engine and box close to being removed . Took a box trailer load of surplus stuff to the dump .

Engine out of half cut now . Undid cross members and lifted body up and over . All that wiring looks a bit daunting . If i cant figured all the fuel injection and wiring out , on goes 2 x 500cfm carters i got . Mathew Saunders just happened to pop around at the right time to help .
The steering column from the 1/2 cut is a work of art , it retracts and raises ( via little electric motors ) the steering wheel to let the fatties in .
Any oversize ppl need that .

Spotted a few of those V8 Nissans last month in Tokyo. Big tank of a body like the ole Statesman Caprice, twin exhaust and lovely growl. Gloss black with tinted windows, real Yakooza staff cars.

Never guess the model... Nissan Cedric.
Yup, the Cedric lives.
