Hi JonB,
no I do not have a rule book but yeh will need to get one and as far as class I want to run i guess under 125mph i guess as the old girl was only good for 70 back in the day, i know it would be boring for some if not all but hey rockin the salt with someting that old does something for me at this time and who nows what the feuture brings and were we end up thats what it is all about ? The journey? also need to become a financial member as well, the willys is going to be standard in every way I guess, the least amount of money will have to be spent as I am on a shoe string, "true hot rodding"at it's best. 8).

Rule book is on the website for a free download Munga, a direct link is here http://www.dlra.org.au/docs/2014dlra-rulebook.pdf

There are a few safety requirements to be met to run.

Cheers

Ok so iv'e read the 2014 rule book and I was hoping some one could clear something up for me, now I have not studied the rules but tuched on it all and from what I understand even if you are trying to get to um I don't know 70 or 80 mph on the salt do you really need a roll cage? or am I misunderstanding something here?

Munga even if you have a car that makes 1 hp and can do 1 mph tops you are required to comply with ALL the General safety rules....so yes a full roll cage..... and also remember if your car can only do 1 mph if it is in a class where the record is say 300mph you are also required to build it to the same level as that 300mph car .... good to see common sense prevails ......also starting next year any deviations from the rules and you don't race......and make sure your interpretation of the rule/s is the same as the chief scrutineers...so keep in touch with your state scrut and ask questions when building & if the rules change between meets you also have to comply with them even if it means rebuilding from the ground up again ........The days of turning up with an affordable ( for the average bloke) car to have a bit of fun are over .....there was a time in the past where you could run what ya brung up to 130mph.......the philosophy of safety at any cost ( and it costs lots ) is now in high gear and running to set a new record.

But even so its a great sport and the members are like family so stick with it even if it takes longer to turn a wheel an the great white dyno

Ok then roll cage it is then but I really don't think ill get to a buck thirty, like ever but will be fun tryin, to be quite honest if I get to a ton ill be happy and would feel I have acheived somethin, but hey in the far distance who knows right? Chasing the horizon could bring supm else, what a cool dice roll man.
As you can see it doesn't take much to exite me, just a simple horizon eh.

G'DAy Munga,
You need to host your image before you can link to it.
Search for free photo sharing or go to Photobucket or Picasa, get your self an account, load your pictures there and then you can link to them from here.

We cover this here.
Keep the shiney side up........
