DLRA 25th Anniversary

2015 marks the 25th Anniversary for the Dry Lakes Racers Australia. Wow! Where did the time go!
We know that there are many previous entrants from Australia and overseas already making plans to compete.
Next years Speed Week will be a celebration for all those amazing, wonderful cars and bikes that have roared down the salt of Lake Gairdner.
We would love to know what ever happened to some of those vehicles, where are they now? Are they still around?
Let's use this post the reminisce and see if we can blow the dust off some of these cars and bikes.
Keep the shiney side up........

I ran my HD holden at the first ever DLRA meet in 1990, it is sitting in the corner of my garage waiting to be restored.
I still have one of the original t shirts with a plain black logo, it seems to have shrunk over the years though.

To quote G from last year, "this is the best one yet"

I hope that this is the shirt for 2015?

Sometimes the less complex, more to the point of the exercise are the best. Regards,

Rain outs affected the number of Speed Weeks not the number of years of the DLRA's existence. I'm not being narky Greg, it was a mathematical observation.

Isn't it the 25th anniversary of the first one? The first anniversary being 1991?

nothing else is gonna have as nice a ring to it as 25th, 1990 - 2015.... there might be a lot of ringing in the ears from the nit pickers though no matter what you have it as :p

If the inaugural event was 1990, then 1991 is the first anniversary. 1991 is then inclusive to the reckoning, being the first anniversary, so 2015 would be the 25th one?

I'm confused - need to have a lie down... sounds like all the hoohaa around celebrating NYE at the end of 99. Too hard to work out.

There's gonna be a party! There's gonna be some kind of celebration! There's gonna be more racing and afterwards drinks. Let's get the word out and try to get some of the racers of the last 25 years along. We're working towards making it a smooth running event.
