Thanks Ross,
The image I posted is just a screen shot, I can move the 3D image anyway I want to. It is an "eprt" file (a viewable version of a Solidworks file). Can that be imported into Mastercam?
The Soarer lower inlet ports are rectangular, the Nissan throttle bodies are round. Worst case I was going to cut where the two overlap then blend by hand.
Actually, worst case I was going to buy the inlet gasket and do the whole job by hand, then I found this file.
Cheers,
Rob

Re: Toyota Soarer/Lexus SC400 E/Pro
Rob, and others interested..
Two things gave the drawing away for what primary machine was used to make that part.
First.. the intake round hole changing to rectangle.
Second ..the little ears on the edge of drawing have a square edge ..
A person drawing that part for a CNC milling machine would have radiused those corners..
There are plenty of CNC milling machines and CNC lathes around ... but very few machine shops have
CNC wire cutters, particuly 4 axis machines..
Think of a CNC wire cutter as a complex bandsaw and the blade being about the same thickness as a dogs hear.
The wire does not touch the job, the wire is electricly charged and erodes the metal away, all while sitting in a solution of iodiosed water..
both the top and bottom head of the machine are active , thus giving the machine the abilaty to have a round hole at the top and a square hole at the bottom .
That being said..
Transferring Solidworks to Mastercam ....is doable..
but being a view only file . I doubt there is enough imformation on the file for me to activate it ..
Send it anyway, I'll see what can be done.

Yes mate,
Been crewing for Gaz on the Jag but missed Speed Week for the last two years (but did help prep and load the car in 2015), one when we lost dad and the next when mum was to have an operation and I had to look after her for a couple of weeks. They postponed it 7 days on the Monday, typical.
The Soarer sits under a layer of dust for the moment. I'm in no rush although the record keeps climbing.
Didn't you move to Thailand?
Cheers,
Rob

Not much to see at the moment, inside is chockers full of junk as is the boot. Some bastard threw a rock over the fence and cracked the windscreen but for now it's essentially a stocker covered in dust.
