buy the photos on fb the water looked about 6" deep in the pits area,,, uuummmm, never seen it so deep there, however have driven thru water that deep on the way to reletivly dry pits, and were racing a day and a half later,,, i'll be surprised if the event goes ahead,, it would only take another shower and it will be definatly off,, :(

Cancelled ...
Bummer for all involved

Ronnie i think the SCTA pits are closer to roads end than Bubs , and all the water we have driven through at Bubs in the past is the SCTA pits

Guys, watched footage of them driving through water. It seems solid enough underneath to do that. I cant imagine trying this at Lake Gairdner. Your thoughts?

I think out main hard salt pan could cope fine, its just that mud/sand bar under the salt in our entry area thats the real problem

I cant remember ever seeing signs of mud out further

The Bonneville track has 5 miles of built up road to get beyond there soft edges , pity we cant put in a 1/2 mile long access

Thanks Greg,
Dead right, if we could just get 300m out from the boat ramp things would be much different.

I wonder if we could borrow some salt from Pt Wakefield Rd (Adelaide) to use ? I'm sure that'd satisfy environmental concerns, but I doubt the company who own that salt (Pt Wakefield) want to give any away?
There's always Powerball thursday night I guess ? how many Saxa twist tops would it take to sprinkle a road ?

I hope they are lost and driving through the stream that sort of like ours runs along the side of the lake
normal track out looks to be where the other car is back towards the dike
I am realy hoping its dryer in 11 days when we get there for the motorcycle meet ...

after looking at both photos posted, i would assume that those blokes are driving in the creek immediatly off "the boat ramp",, the car in the background is headed for the boat ramp,,

Greg, if thay get no more rain and the wind comes up(hopefully from the south), im thinking the Bike Meet will be ok, maybe a little damp but thats a good thing, ,,

Paul thats a great show of the stream ,
once it would have drained better via a cut from there to the dike a mile or 2 from the roads end, the old drain shows itself on wet years as a less stable base you have to cross ,
also a good indicator of the water concentrated in the Speedway area

yep Ronnie we know it can dry quick, but i have not seen as much water as is there now

few shots of our water experiances
leaving a shortened Bubs 2012, dont run into the Tardis
Image

Nearly 2 weeks later and several more rain storms entering for WOS
Image
yet the track was dry
