Ice Supplies and Canteen

Post by Mildura Ice Works »

Hi everyone,
Where as the last 12 months gone??? Well I am pleased to say that Mildura Ice will be back on the salt for 2015, along with my rock Shannon, and his wife Marilyn (Maz). We have committed to both the DLRA and Len and Joy Newton to run the canteen. Starting with the ice, there will be no change as per the last 2 years, 5kg tube will be $6.50 and a 5kg block will be $8.50. and will will donate the 50 cents back to the club when the dust (salt) settles. Now the canteen. Where do I start. We are bringing a team of 12 people to ensure everyone is feed. Saturday the 21st and Sunday the 22nd is when we will start doing a basic lunch and tea to help people out (pie and sauce and a sausage sizzle or maybe even a chop) Then from Monday 23rd thru to Friday 27 we will be doing our best to provide a service from 6.00 am thru to 9.00 pm. Our intentions are to do a different evening meal which we will post when menu is set. The main thing at this stage is for the weather to be kind for the meet. I am contactable on 0427 707115. Regards Dion Higgins 1200.

Winner
Its hard to think of what the place would be like without ice
I think we should nominate Mildura Ice for lifetime membership to DLRA

Thanks for the great service last year. We will need 6 bags a day again.
We will not bring as much food and have a social at the canteen.
Look forward to a real meal. Team Bullet

Top job, Dion
If you're looking for numbers to help with stock levels, count me in for 3 feeds a day, Sunday through to Friday
Nothin better than kicking back with a coldie, watching the sun set over the lake.
Spose that's a valid question, are you running a bar?

Thanks everyone for the support, So at this stage all systems go. A different evening meal is on the agenda. Roast, spaghetti, hot chicken beef gravy rolls, good old snitzel night. We are planning the rolls for Wednesday night so people can keep on the move back to the wool shed for a great auction night, however one of our dedicated cooks can play the guitar so hopefully a bit of light entertainment might be on the cards. Joy will be running the bar alongside us, so as far as I know drinks will be available at the canteen. The pie cart will be in full action all week on the lake starting at around 10.0 am and finishing around 5.00pm. This will have refreshments available. No change to how the ice truck works on the salt, all day with the good old zooper dooper again on board, as it was a hit last year. However every now and then we hope the ice truck can be our recovery vehicle as finally we have a trike that might pass scrutineering, fingers crossed. Dion and Shan
