Well as stated, the frame will meet regs for modified.
The engine and frame are of same manufacturer.
The engine design is nothing like the pictured engines or the twin engined bike pictured.

It is an inline twin. One crankshaft made from two single cyl crankshafts.

I have read through the dlra rule book and the bonneville regs and can't find the answered to my questions.

Thanks for the input, I will contact Graham Hadley.

Cheers

What is so bad about "A" ?
My feeling is you would have to make a common crankcase to be called 1 motor
then its no longer a brand X motor but a "Barra " and your still in A

Hi Barra

Now I get it .... It's my Two stroke brain thinking about inline engines and two cranks

So you are making what I call a Parallel Twin, like a RD/RZ Yamaha 250/350 engine, by putting two singles together side by side ....

I would agree with Greg W about it being in A Class ....

But it is one that is a decision for Graham to interpret the Rules ....

All that aside sounds like an interesting project to me .... What Class Capacity are you aiming for?

Thanks for the input. Does inline not mean? Parallel? Sorry if I confused everyone by getting my terminology mixed up?
I have contacted Graham and look forward to his advice.

Yea, those Rotax 256 and brc engines have scared me from the 250cc class.
Although I guess they will always belong in special construction as they never made a bike chassis?
Seems like anyone with a bigger bank balance then me could come along and instantly have a lot of horsepower...
I think I'm also scared off from the 500cc class after reading about a guy named Marks absolutely insane watercooled rd400 making 140hp!
I have my eye on the 175cc class.

Well Graham has responded and says it would be considered "two motors"...

Hi barra,

"Seems like anyone with a bigger bank balance then me could come along and instantly have a lot of horsepower.".

This goes for every class in the book.

Your name will be in the book until some one beats you.

Well-- how about a little more information!!

175cc twin. --- Two yz 80 engines, turn the cylinders around so the pipes will go straight out through the seat. weld a 2 crankcases together.
Don't mess around with a stock chassis. Build a long low chassis with some GOOD a body and I can see 130mph or more.

cheers Bones
