Offical Lake Inspection

Post by DLRA »

There was an inspection of Lake Gairdner by DLRA members today. I am pleased to confirm that Speed Week is most definitely ON.
Track 1 is still a little soft after about the seven and a half mile, but if we don't get any more rain this should dry out. Plus we have just had the full moon so by the time we are ready to race the water table will be much lower.
Track 2 is fine and we will just have to be careful with placement of the return road.
Surface conditions are comparable with 2014, not quite as good as last year or 2015.
The Iron Knob - Kingoonya Road is very good. The road from the turn off to the water tanks not so much. And large patches of bull dust from the tanks to the lake.
The weather forecast for Speed Week is low to mid thirty's, pretty much ideal.
Thanks to Michael Brixton and the guys for making the effort today.
See you on the salt.
Keep the shiney side up........

No it's not, if you see a big earth moving tyre on the side of the road and your in a 4WD or truck. Hook it up and drag it to the other end of where ever your going. This is the best way to keep the ruts down on the dirt roads
