an older post I see but I have just joined here and looking forward to my first trip to the salt this year... This grabbed my attention as I have a v8 bike that is built in a similar matter but was done in the early 90's it runs a 253 with high comp slugs, tq 20 cam, performer manifold, 650 holley and a 150hp nitrous plate system. it was built as a fun burnout dirt machine and I am bout to give it a freshen up soon but I cant see it ever being able to pass scrutineering. I'll try to add pics if I can work it out

That is an awesome looking bike. Am I right in assuming you are running an ordinary car clutch with a sprocket and outboard bearing on the end of the bellhousing?

Would love to hear about how it rides and any issue you struck during the build. Work is continuing on mine with what is now the third incarnation of the frame being built. (Just couldn't get happy with the other two). My plan is to use a Harley clutch on a jackshaft but I have some reservations about doing it that way. It seems clutching these monsters is the biggest challenge...

yeah its a stock holden 4 spd clutch, it was built in the early 90's in qld so I don't know how troublesome it was to build. it rides wild and does do very easy burnouts.. Iam looking at going to a slider clutch at moment so will let you know how that turns out.

I have just laid my hands on a quartermaster 7.25" triple disc clutch via ebay which I'm hoping to run on a two piece jackshaft behind the engine. This should be well and truly stronger than required (built for NASCAR) and solves the frontal area issue of the harley clutch hanging out the left side. All theory at this stage and I'm yet to make it work but I'm happy with the concept...
