Clipsal 500 - Adelaide

Hi

we're leaving melbourne sat morning so we'll be in adelaide late afternoon, just as the bloody clipsal 500 ( v8 supercars ) ends for the day.
traffic ?? !!
Is there a ways of avoiding travelling throught the centre of adelaide?

HI , There is an easy way to avoid traffic ,turn right at first set of lights Portrush Rd follow thru to Hampstead Rd turn right travel 3-4Ks at Grand Junction Rd turn left and right on to Pt Wakefield Rd . hope this makes it a little easier . cheers Mick

Better yet
Turn off at murray bridge and head for Palmer, then Birdwood
(Stop and check out the Motor Museum), cut thru to Gawler and then head to the Highway one Via Mallala, will cut about an hour and a half off your trip,
Its a nice drive bit twisty and hilly but mostly 100 klicks nice roads,
It looks easyier to head up thru the clare valley from Gawler but the road is like the Luna Park roller coaster,,
Gawler Is last big town till Port Augusta,
