Am I reading this right .....at first I thought it was Norm lashing out ..... OR ,is it open for "cost sharing".... if so 1./ Emma Chizzett .... 2./ wots the liability/insurance situation?????

is this an invite event??????????????????????

Norm's knighthood

Post by David Leikvold »

I'd like to nominate Norm for a knighthood, who'll second the motion?
With some organisation runway 05/23 could be used for standing mile runs like Maxton and 18/36 could be used for standing kilometre. Keeping it simple, just use 05/23 and mark out both lengths on it.
Imagine that, surveyed once, marked forever, runways never underwater, no rust, as much traction as you want, only 2 hours from Melbourne straight up the Hume Highway, even closer to Castlemaine, only a day's drive from Sydney and a day closer to Brisbane than the lake.
Of course you'd need good brakes and a parachute as the good cars at Maxton do over 200mph (see the August issue of Hot Rod magazine).
Good, Fast, Cheap, pick any two!

For all questions ask Norm, it was announced at the last Melbourne meeting (in a low key way), this is your invitation, it's private in so far as Norm's booked it, I'm sure Norm would be looking for those that run to help him recoup some of the expense, liability/insurance, I don't think so.

Up here in the sunshine state of Qld , we have our version of high speed tarmac , its called the Gold Coast Highway , scares the heck out of me . Speeds of close to 300kmh have been seen on the police radars there.

Don, the M4 west of SYD is the NSW Police test track. It's a 110 limit 6 laner but it you're doing 110 after 1am, you better be in the far left lane... 'cos the coppers are usually blowing the cobwebs out of their XR8s at 160++ in the right lane with their lights OFF.

I remember getting a clear road on the M4 between Parramatta and Penrith one day while driving over to Big Gaz's place in my GT. 6000rpm 4th gear 3.0:1 diff 24.5" tyres - work it out if you want.

Don - I also seem to recall a blue Skyline wagon attempting an LSR up the GC Highway when it grenaded!!!!!!
