Hey Guys,The word on Mangalore(As spoken by 'El Presedente'),some airsrtrip/airport around the Mexican Capitol is closing down, due to the land being sooo valuable Real estate. The air traffic is being diverted more and more to Mangalore. This makes Mangy a bit too busy to have a shut down to accommadate us.Hence therefore,no more DLRA at Mangalore. Here endith the lesson!
Spook,Greg, and others, please don't sit about cryin' about this. Get organised and find some where else.Don't mean to sound harsh, but it ain't gunna happen unless someone does it! It's taken a long time and alot of effort to get where we are here in Qld,but is is starting to pay off.
Peter Noy has started organising the troops in S.A. the guys in N.S.W. are trying to get things together. Not sure if the W.A guys have got anything going yet,and by memory Dr Goggles was talking about a Lakester thingy in Vic.
Please remember EVERYONE,you are a DLRA member. This means there is no THEY or THEM,it's ALL of us. The more members contribute, the better the sport will be.
Cheers,Bob.

Already have a another airfield in mind... Corowa, not that special compared to the length of Mangalore , but in light of current circumstances it will be worth further investigation, only used by the glider club . i can't do much till the end of Sept but if anyone else is passing thru its worth a look ..

Also heard of another strip used for "testing" but i have to find out if its available to more than this person on a mates deal ???

Considering I was in Winton Victoria at the time I'd best add that talent on my resume' :?

Keeping ahead of the game I currantly have Twelve and a half positive starters for our first event. I need more so have a deep think and commit. It will be your only chance to be at our first event and lifes to short to miss it.

yeah Bob, i was talking to him last Saturday night, out at the Palmyra drags,, told him whats happening, he said that one k would be too short for the liner, i suggested that he change the gearing and give it some "quiet test" runs, "which it and him need", Mark his mate was in on the conversation and agreed with me, so i guess we will have to wait and see,, knowing Luckie, i recon he will turn up
