Three wins in Mitchell designed Supermarine Trophy planes and a world air speed record of 336mph in1929 with a Gloster VI
The power of the engines went from 450hp through to 1320hp VIIID
Both Campbells "Blue Bird " & the "Enterprise " claimed approx 1450hp
The engines were fitted to a numerous amount of different aircraft (some pushing ,some pulling )
One experimental model carried three engines.(not pictured)
