Category Representatives

1. Description

The DLRA rules allow for a number of vehicle categories, within these categories are a number of classes. Each category has a representative who is considered to have specialist knowledge pertaining to that category or class. Where there is a request for interpretation of the rules or ruling on a dispute, the category represtentative will supply information to the Event Committee.

A Category Representative is nominated at the Annual General Meeting each year and is a trained accredited DLRA official.

  • Respond to requests for interpretation of DLRA rules and regulations.

3. Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of the DLRA rules and regulations.
  • Exceptional knowledge of the category and classes that they represent.
  • Good communication and conflict management skills.

4. Duties

  • Make themselves available for determinations as required. This may be during Speed Week or at any other time of the year.

Note: The difference between an executive committee member’s role and other roles
A executive committee member role is a strategic position within the club and consequently, a executive committee member is responsible for governing the club. A executive committee member’s role should not be confused with the management and operational roles of an organization (like a Race Director, Inspector, Timer or Starter). The day-to-day work of the organization is managed and completed by these volunteers with the club. Unless you also hold an execution (operational) role, it is not your responsibility to perform or be involved in the day-to-day running of the club.
