travelling to the lake

Post by penny »

Whilst travelling to and from Lake Gairdner one of the ways in and out is via Kimba .
It is i think 90 klms longer but 30klms less dirt road , than the Iron Knob to MT Ive road . Goes in past Bucklboo then "mail run road ' takes you to nonning rd to the turn off to the lake at yardea dam .On the way out at the corner of mail run road is an old wooden cart marking the turn off
kimba has a good camp area , donation / honesty box , on North Tce . It has toilets and coin showers and camp kitchen .

It sometimes amazes me to see people at the lake empty their Eskies onto the ground .
The ice you have purchased is Food Grade so the water can be decanted for drinking and also kept for washing .
We fill 20 ltr containers and leave under the trees at the Salt Bush camp all day for warm showers .
