There is a date of manufacture on the inside of the helmet
unfortunately, SAI Global certify some junk as well, you can buy a certified full face helmet for $66.00 wholesale.
also, when you look at the sticker, it doesn't differentiate between full face and open face.
If you look at the ECE 22-05P, the "P" is for full face.
Bones , you can bring a helmet with TUV if you want, just make sure you bring another one to ride on the course in.
I read recently that due to our current free trade agreement, if a motorcycle helmet it certified for road use in a country that we have a free trade agreement with, it is legal for use on the road in Australia. However, the police in Victoria don't recognise this, and only recognise the AS/NZ1698 sticker.
Also new for this year will be DLRA helmet stickers which will be similar to the SCTA helmet sticker. When you bring your bike and gear thru scrutineering, you will have a sticker attached to your helmet when it is passed. If you get to the start line and you don't have that sticker, you will be sent back to find myself or Shane who will re inspect your helmet and re issue you with a sticker. Oh and you get to go to the back of the line

Anyone know what the status of Motorcycle leather rule changes are? I have leathers to suit the current rules but wouldn't mind selling my old leathers.

After a number of rule change requests regarding leathers we are going to do exactly that.
this is what is proposed, and it reflects the rules used by BUB and the AMA
I am interested in constructive comments
I will read stupid comments as well, and then I will disregard them

One piece or two leathers are required. where two piece leathers
are used , the zip that joins the two must be 350° and must be
stitched to the leather
Suits made of synthetic material are not permissible. The
use of stretchable Kevlar and perforated materials in noncritical
areas are permissible. Leathers cannot be too big or loose.
Critical area (knees, elbows, forearms, shoulders) armor or 2-layers of
leather is highly recommended. Due to invisible flames,
riders’ of motorcycles burning fuels of Methanol content
are recommended to wear Nomex underclothing or
something of similar nature. rear humps on leathers are only
permitted in partially streamlined classes
A back protector is required in all classes

Can we define "Leathers cannot be too big or loose" better?
Were mine "loose", I don't think so but I could not make a judgement based on the above. I will hopefully be 10Kg lighter by the next time I run, how do I tell if I need to adjust my leathers? How would you make your judgement on the lake? Could that be included in the statement?
