BUB has a new name.
I see the BUB Motorcycle Speed Trials is now called the Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials,
Here's the new Website http://bonnevillespeedtrials.com/
It looks like the same event just a name change.

Oh dear I might have to start saving - they have a scooter class if I am reading the rules page right.
edit: unfortunately the FIM person who created the rules doesn't know much about scooters.
1) They have a moped class - a moped is something (motorbike or scooter) which is speed limited to 50km/hr... not much fun for a speed event when going over 50km/hr disqualifies you
2) They also seem to think that the largest production of scooters in history doesn't exist - I can't enter because my Vespa scooter is manual and has a clutch.
Money saved for Lake Gairdner

Re: BUB has a new name.
UPDATE
It rained again but not before we got a few days racing in
2km of stand in water about 100mm deep greeted us at the boat ramp.
After crossing the lake we found the pits to be dryish-- luckily the earth is round and bonneville is on the top. The tracks were a bit soft but raceable.
We messed around for a couple of days with inspection and to let the track dry a bit more.
Wednesday we were up early. A shakedown run @ 160 and all was good, so back in line for a serious go.
First pass was 179 which qualified me for the record-- so off to impound and check in. AMA returns must be done in the same day.
After a bit of a cleanup we were of for the return---183mph and a record for A-G 1350.
After measuring we were done for the day.
RAINED tuesday night--- NO racing wednesday. The track was useable but would chop up quickly.
Changed class to fuel and waited for thursday-- last day and a short day.
Early start again and off to the International-short track-- ran 181 and backed up with 182-- another record
We then went to the international - long to try and get some more speed. The extra mile didn't help much-- 183 down with a 183 return and bumped the record a little.
Greg and Jim arrived a day late They had a few slowish runs but were not worried as.they were using the meeting as a tuneup
The fastest run of the meet was 240mph with an electric sidecar
I'll post again after WoS
cheers Bones

Re: BUB has a new name.
Couple of runs was being generous Bones , i managed one run on the new 1650 bike and burnt the clutch out by 4th gear
suspected the lockup clutch in it was not going to be good enough , but had no other options on hand in the timeframe we had
But the upside was the bike puts the power down well, lots of drive and little wheelspin in average conditions (which accounts for the clutch), and handling was great as a naked bike, when we get the bodywork fitted this week we have a good base line
Jim rode the US 750 for 2 runs , but it was down on power and ran well but only to mid 170's, salt gremlin in there somewhere affecting the boost control, so it goes back on his dyno this week and see if we can replicate the issue
