Sponsorship

Post by DLRA »

As always we are looking for sponsors to help us with our events.
Next year more than normal as we will be conducting the World Speed Trials Australia again.
I'm very keen for this to be as cost neutral for the DLRA as possible, so sponsorship is the only way for this to happen.

Please find attached the final versions of the Sponsor Packs and flyers for
Speed Week 2020

Feel free to distribute them far and wide.

What I'm asking is for ALL members to help us attract more sponsors.
The choice is yours whether to send one or both, if you send both at least you are giving them the option.
If we can get each person who reads this to forward on these proposals to just one potential sponsor, that would me an amazing outcome.
Have a think about who you know that might be interested in helping us out.
I am sure there are companies out there who want to be part of Land Speed Racing in Australia if the opportunity is presented to them.

It has been my experience that the most effective way of getting some sponsorship is to have a personal relationship with the person you are dealing with.
So if you have someone in mind, it will increase our chances if you talk to them first, before sending them the proposal.
But if you can't, still put this under their noses anyway.

We are all members of other clubs, consider taking some flyers or sponsor packs along to your next club meeting, there may be someone there that knows someone, who knows someone.
If you do get the opportunity to talk about Speed Week or the World Speed Trials, you might like to also mention that volunteering is a fantastic way to get close to the action and be a part of the event.
If you don't have access to a printer, just let Carol know and she will get some printed off for you.

If you do send this to someone could you please let David or Carol or myself know, only so we don't double up.

Last year it cost around $80,000 to put on Speed Week (the details are in the minutes of the meetings).
We raise most of our money from entries and from the gate (big thanks to Gary and David), and it has only been the last couple of years where have started to see our reserves rise.
This year, it gave us the opportunity to invest in some new (well new to us) machinery and start to make our lives during Speed Week easier, better and safer.
If we want to continue to do this, the raising of funds via sponsorship will go a long way to making this happen.
We are now starting to get recognition for all the hard work that has been put in over many years, lets make the most of it and make us proud of what we have all accomplished.
Keep the shiney side up........
