Doc,

Assuming the heads are ok, do what I always did/do on vintage cars, tighten them up and snap them off. It saves a lot of heartache.

Works best before you loosen them as rust holds the nut tight to the thread.

got em far enough undone and got a 1mm grinder disc in there and barely even nicked the panel,same on the other side. Didn't want to try breaking the heads off was a little timid about putting that much force ( they're 5/16)into it as there ain't much swinging room in there and I've had every single skun knuckle I ever wanted , and a few more. I got one of the patch panels done , one to go then I have to do the front edge of the bonnet and finish the tailgate.Pretty pleased at the condition of everything when I got the guards off , the only rust in it is the bottom of the guards and the bonnet, noice.
...few understand what I'm trying to do , but they vastly outnumber those who understand why..
