clifford radial engine

Post by boyracer »

Does any know of a Sydney based engineer who invented a four stroke radial engine where the barrels spin, and the heads in the outer perimeter rotate to meet a given bore with either a spark plug or port. No poppet valves, just ports & the same diameter as the bore. I last heard of the engine in `98 from a Two Wheels magazines.

Sorry, none of these. Shall post a scanned image from the Two Wheels mag of `98 in the next couple of days displaying a cut away of this particular radial. Basically, it's like the old aeronautical radial engines, but the block is not fixed to the head.
