Caravans

1. Description

There are 3 caravans used by event officials to run Speed Week.

To volunteer for this job use the Volunteer Register.

 

2. Responsibility

The caravans are stored at the DLRA camp. They need to be taken to the lake and set up in their appropriate locations.

 

3. Duties

 

3.1 Volunteer Instructions

On the day of your duty, you report direct to Event Coordinator.

Make sure you sign the Volunteers Book next to your name.

The morning session is from 8.00am to about 12.00 noon.

The afternoon session starts at about 1.00pm till 5.00pm or close of business on that day.

You must be ready to start your shift at these times.

Make sure you have a hat, sunglasses, sun cream, snacks. Water is provided from the esky at the Registration Caravan and there are portable toilets through out the pits.

3. Tasks

3.1 Set up

  1. Take the timing van from the DLRA camp to the lake.
    The Event Coordinator will direct the exact location
  2. Take the starters van from the DLRA camp to the start line of Track 1.
    Placement is adjacent to the start line on the west side of the track.
  3. Take the registration van from the DLRA camp to the lake using the club truck.
    Placement is at the front of the pits mid way along.

 

3.2 Pack up

  1. Return the timing van to the DLRA camp.
  2. Return the starters van to the DLRA camp.
  3. Return the registration van to the DLRA camp using the club truck.
