Hi Guys,
Its my first time to Speedweek.
I have searched everywhere, and I cannot find the directions to the DLRA campsite. Could someone please give me the directions, or a link to where the directions are listed.
Cheers

if you go here ...........
http://www.dlra.org.au/lgairdner2.htm
it says this
Turn right on a dirt road just after Iron Knob turn off, you then travel 121 km to Mt. Ive Station turn off, or keep going another 8 km, past 1 cattle grid, then you come to a creek sign, turn right just before the second cattle grid. It is then 21 km past the 2 gates (Shut the gate, mate) a water well, then salt.
the lakeside camp is..beside the lake..the members camp has a sign at the water tanks..

...few understand what I'm trying to do , but they vastly outnumber those who understand why..
When do you plan on arriving? You could probably hook up with someone and follow them in if you weren't confident.
I took a heap of photos of the road in last year to keep myself amused, I still need to upload all the salt pics

If you're going straight for the camps do not turn to Mt Ive but continue straight on. Have a chuckle at the submarine and keep going straight.
When you come to the fork with the water tanks and windmill it's left to the lake or right and then right again in a couple of km to the DLRA camp.
Nonning is about half way in so if you get there you know you're on the right track.
Cheers

I owe, I owe, so off to work I go.
The first time we went in we were worried about getting lost but it is really fairly easy. Once you get to the Iron Knob turnoff it is the next dirt road to the right, the sign says Mt Ive. Follow the dirt road past Mt Ive station as Rob said. You'll get to an intersection where you will see a DLRA Lake Gairdner sign, this is where you turn right - keep following the road till you get to the water tanks and windmill.
Once at the tanks the road to the right goes to the "shearer's camp" where a bunch of people stay. The road to the left goes to the lake as well as the camgrounds as well as the canteen. You can't miss any of them.
If you are driving in on the Thursday - Sunday before the start you will most likely see others coming in as well. Follow the dust, take it easy and bring extra fuel if you're in a standard car.

Added a heap of pics to the album. This is the sign post where you leave the tar. Bad angle as it was a last minute decision.

G'day Stayt'ie
Last I heard yes.
Don and I spoke with them whilst fueling up last year and price varies according to what they are charged for at their delivery (weekly).
Didn't mean to confuse anyone, what I meant was last fuel for the trip in was Pt Augusta, just in case anyone was thinking to fill at Iron Knob.
Cheers,
Rob
