Lake Gairdner 2006

2006 at Lake Gairdner was unique for a couple of reasons; 1. We had water on the lake, 2. We had a light plane offering scenic tours over the lake. So with nothing better to do many of the teams took the opportunity to get a look at the lake that they had never had the opportunity to do before. These photos were taken by Chris Hanlon and were shot on the Monday.

The Water on the lake was a result of a storm to the north west of Lake Gairdner some weeks prior and normally this would not have been a problem, but strong northerly winds blew the water south and over parts of the track, which was especially long this year at 10 miles, for the FIM World Record attempt. Over the Monday and Tuesday several inspections witnessed the movement of water across the lake.
